confessions of a techno-phobic

i am trying to learn how to use my digital camera.  i mean really learn it.  more than just setting it to automatic, pushing the button and hoping for the best.
as most of you know, technology doesn't come naturally to me.  when i see buttons and switches and cords and screens, i tend to break out in a cold sweat.  but, heck, i'm turning 45 next month, and i'm a fairly smart person, and i have noticed that i CAN learn whatever technology i really WANT to learn, so i have decided that i WANT to learn how to really understand my camera and all that it can do before i die.
it's coming slowly, this learning, what with editing the book, and doing mounds of laundry and all.  but today, i followed my two girls (girls number 2 and number 4) down to the field and shot up a bunch of pictures while they played together.
i told them "don't worry, i'm not taking real pictures, i'm just learning the camera, do you guys mind?"
they didn't mind.  and though i didn't get anything terrific (they kept moving while they were playing soccer!)  i had a blast.

The clarity on your camera is great...the grass looks real. Aren't you glad that you have such beautiful (and willing) subjects?!
